Classic Bolt Action Rifle_Lee-Enfield

British Infantry with the Lee-Enfield. Looks like an early model.

British Infantry on a Sherman tank. Good view of the Enfield. The fellow to the right of the man with the Enfield is armed with the famous Bren Gun (LMG).

I have a number of WW2 rifles in a collection I inherited from my dad. Our goal was to collect one rifle from each belligerent but he passed away before we could collect them all. However, he did find some nice pieces. The first one I’ll highlight is the British Enfield. This rifle was the standard British and Commonwealth rifle from the time of the Second Boer War to the mid-fifties. The rifle continued in service with many other countries even to the War in Afghanistan at the present time. Truly one of the bolt-action classics. Mine is a little unusual because markings indicate it was in Australian service.

Australian Infantry, Tobruk, 1941
Looks posed but a nice shot of their weapons including a Bren Gun.
